AKBAR, (A.H. 963-1014, A.D.1556-1605), Gold half mohur, (5.375 grams), probably struck in Lahore mint, issued c.A.H. 973-5 (A.D. 1565-8), obv. Kalima, rev. part of legend, standard privy marks for Lahore on obv. and rev., (cf.Nagpur 35 (Mohur), Indian Museum Calcutta -, KM. SAC. -). Short on flan struck on mohur dies, correct weight for half mohur, otherwise good very fine, excessively rare, a seemingly unpublished type and denomination.
