John Jeremiah Butler confirmed on roll in fourth (imperial) contingent, entitled to bars for Cape Colony, Orange Free State; Transvaal; Rhodesia; South Africa 1901. Mentioned in despatches for gallantry at Wolmaranstad 6 March 1901. (L.G. 9 July 1901). Invalided to Australia arrived 5 June 1901. Returned to South Africa with the 8th A.C.H. (not entitled to 'South Africa 1902').
