SYRIA, Seleucid kingdom of Alexander I (Balas), (150-145 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.11 grams), Antioch mint, issue of 148/7-147/6 B.C., obv. head of Alexander I to r., with diademed, rev. Zeus seated to l., on throne holding Nike, (Newell SMA 156 or 157, SNG Cop. 253-4, S.7030). Off centre both sides, attractive portrait and very fine.
