MACEDON, kingdom of Alexander III (the Great), (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.10 grams), Colophon mint, obv. head of Herakles to r., clad in lion skin, rev. Zeus enthroned to l., star in field to l., (Price 1781, SNG Cop. 901, cf.S.6730). Uneven tone, very fine.
