Lot 3521

Estimate $1,000
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $1,600

QUARTER DOLLAR AND HALF DOLLAR LIBERTY SEATED 1873 ARROWS. Both heavily toned black and blue with some rubbing on high parts of the design.

Mintage of 540 and 550. Although these two pieces have lost some of their reflective surfaces, they are definitely proof issues, the quarter having the diagnostic die cut to the left of the eagle's shield. Their identical toning suggests that they were bought directly from the mint as a pair, and despite not having received the best of care since, are still an attractive pair of coins.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
