TEN SHILLINGS, 1st August 1934, letter only, Z000001 (L. 601; P. 154). The very first issue, serial number 1 as presented to A.D. Park , C.M.G. Secretary to the Treasury (1929-35). Glue adhering to front top margin at edge where tipped into its original frame, slightly toned, otherwise uncirculated and of the highest importance as the New Zealand Government.

This note was printed by Thomas De la Rue and Co Ltd, London and was presented to A.D. Park by Directors of the Reserve Bank (see Sutherland, Allen 'Numismatic History of New Zealand 'Wellington 1941, Page 192, no 272 where he mentions the No 1 one pound being presented to Rt Hon J.G. Coats, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Designs Committe. The numbering series prefixes commenced from the end of the alphabet and progressed in reverse order. The last note was IY 395000.
