PARTHIA, Mithradates II, (123-88 B.C.), drachm, Ecbatana mint, obv. long bearded bust to l., wearing tiara (Sell. type iv), rev. archer enthroned to r., (S.7372, Sell.28.4). Very fine.

This and the following drachm lots of Parthia were formed by a family over a period of the last 100 years in Europe and the United States. They have been consigned to this auction by its present owner. The coins have attractive dark cabinet toning and are generally above average in condition. This collection includes a few scarce pieces.
