CHARLES I, (1625-1649), halfcrown, Nicholas Briot's coinage, second milled issue, m.m. anchor and B, issued 1638-1639, Tower mint, (S.2858). Struck from rusted dies, otherwise extremely fine as issued and rare in this condition.

ex Spink Numismatic Circular, April 1907, No. 39278 (listed at four pounds), and May-June 1925, No. 40445 (listed at four pounds ten shillings), (both described as FDC, the latter as a beautiful coin and RR), Webster collection (Lawsons, 30th July 1929, lot 30), Dr. George H. Abbott collection (Lawsons, 6-8th July 1943, lot 124, sold for four pounds), and bought from Dave Raymond c.1944-1945.
