JUSTIN I, (518-527), solidus, 4.46 grams, struck at Constantinople mint, 518-519, obv. helmeted facing bust holding spear, rev. Victory standing to left holding P headed cross, star in left field, (S. 55, DOC 11a). Very fine and rare.

An issue issued from July 518 to March 519, after which the male Angel was introduced on the reverse following the conclusion of union with Rome.
