GROUP OF THREE:- Military Cross (GVR); British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal; Captain S.I. Winter-Irving A.I.F. MC Engraved on reverse 'Capt S.I. Winter-Irving AFC 18.1.18' Other medals impressed, 'AIF' on British War Medal corrected. Very fine.

MC: L.G. 18 Jan 18: Captain and Flight Commander Stanhope Irving Winter-Irving, M.C. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When acting as escort during a reconnaisance, he repeatedly attacked and drove off single-handed a formation of three enemy aeroplanes, thereby enabling a most valuable reconnaissance to be made.
