GERMANY, Saxony, Albertine line, Johann Georg II, (1656-1680), silver medallic thaler, 1678, obv. St. George slaying the dragon to right, EN HONNEUR DU SOUVERAIN DU RES NOBLE ORDRE DE LA IARTIERE, around, rev. nine line inscription in laurel wreath, (KM.M16, D. 7633). Extremely fine and scarce.

Issued to commemorate his election to the Order of the Garter.
