WILLIAM I, (1066-1087), silver penny, Bonnet type, London mint, issued 1068-1070, obv. crowned diademed bust facing with two fillets at each side, rev. cross voided with annulet in centre, pellet between each limb pile in each angle, around recut over +IELFS ON LIINDENI as IDCFI ON CMNDENI (Aelfsi of London), (S.1251, North 842, BMC ii, BMC 109 same reverse die, Br.II). Flan split in two and repaired, otherwise very fine.
