PALESTINE, Judaea, Second Revolt, (A.D. 132-135), silver shekel (Sela) or tetradrachm, (14.08 grams), undated, attributed to year 3, A.D. 134-5, obv. Shim`on around, star above, facade of the Temple of Jerusalem with ark and scrolls, border of dots, rev. lulav with etrog at left, surrounded by inscription 'for the Freedom of Israel' (S.5650; Hendin 162, Mildenberg No.57, obv. die 13, rev. die 43). Weak in places with clear evidence of overstriking on another piece, otherwise extremely fine.
