CARIAN ISLANDS, Rhodes, (175-170 B.C.), Pseudo-Rhodian issue in Thessaly, silver drachm, (2.46 grams), obv. head of Helios three-quarter face to right with hair loose, rev. rose, with bud on right, above **ERMIAS, I **W left and right of stalk, (S.5092, SNG Finland 793-5). Nearly extremely fine.

It is believed the issue was a military issue to pay for Cretan mercenaries, used in Thessaly and other parts of Central Greece.
