THESSALY, Thessalian League, (196-146 B.C.), silver double victoriatus, (6.20 grams), Larissa mint, obv. head of Zeus to right, crowned with oak leaves, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides YESSAA LWN, above across SWSI PATROS, below across, GORGWPAS, (cf.S.2232, BMC 25 [p.3]). Well centred, extremely fine and desireable.
