SNOWDEN, James Ross., certification as a Prothonotary of a Judgement of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania 3rd April 1868, that no unsatisfied judgement against Samuel Manning, fixed with 5 cents duty stamp. Fine and rare.

James Ross Snowden (1809-1878) was a numismatist, who wrote a few books, including the Medals of Washington, and a catalogue of the collection of coins in the Philadelphia mint. He was the ninth director of the mint in Philadelphia from 1853 - 1861.
