BANK OF NEW SOUTH WALES, share certificate for one hundred pounds printed on vellum issued to Samuel Terry 31 May 1832, No.756, no imprint but by William Moffitt. Transferred on back in May 1838 to John Malcolm. Good very fine and rare.

Samuel Terry (1776?-1838) was a merchant, landowner 'The Botany Bay Rothschild', started his life in Australia as a convict in 1801 transported to Australia. Granted a liquor license in 1810 he prospered rapidly and died in 1838 with an estate worth Å“250,000 and an income regular income of from rentals of Å“10,000 per annum.
