JUSTINIAN I, (527-565), gold solidus, issue of 545-565, Constantinople mint, (4.48 grams), Officina S, obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust facing without pellets on breastplate, holding cross on globe, around DN IVSTINI ANVS PP AVI, rev. Angel standing facing holding long cross with chi-rho at top end, and cross on globe, around VICTORI A AVCCCS, in exergue CONOB, star in right field, (S.140, DOC. 9f.1, To.33). Full flan, well centred about as struck, nearly uncirculated with mint bloom.
