CENTRAL BRITAIN, uninscribed issue, Corieltauvi tribal issues, (c.55-45 B.C.), gold stater, reduced weight type of coinage of Abstracted style, (6.02 grams), obv. Abstracted head of Apollo to right, rev. Celticized disjointed horse to left, sunflower or star below, (S.27, Van A. 805-9 notes as extremely rare, Allen type D, Mack 54/56). Good very fine and rare.

Ex. Found in North Lincolnshire, 1982 and R. Mossop collection, Glendining's, November 6, 1991 (lot 132), purchased from Colonial coins.
