CARIA, Knidos, (c.465-449 B.C.), silver drachm, (6.37 grams), obv. forepart of lion to right, rev. head of Aphrodite to right of fine archaic style, hair in lines and bound with diadem of beads, all within incuse square, (S.4833, Cahn Knidos No.82 [same dies], SNG Cop. 236 [same dies]). Superb colour and tone, nearly extremely fine and rare.
