ITALY, Campania, Neapolis (Naples), (c.340-240 B.C.), silver stater or didrachm, (7.44 grams), obv. head of nymph to right, Artemis holding long torches behind, APT[EMI] before, rev. bull walking to right, crowned by Nike flying right above, below monogram of MT, below exergue **NEOPOLITW[N], (cf.S.307, Sambon 462, SNG ANS 344 [same dies], SNG Ash. 108 [same dies]). Toned, off centred on the reverse, otherwise very fine and a scarce symbol.
