MAURICE TIBERIUS, (A.D.582-602), gold tremissis, Uncertain mint, (1.35 grams), obv. bust of Maurice Tiberius to right, with diadem, wearing cuirass and paludamentum, d N TIbE RI PP AV around, rev. cross potent, VICTORIA AVGU, around, CONOB in exergue, (cf.S.550, not in DOC). Unusual style, struck from rusted dies, extremely fine and probably a contemporary copy by a neighbouring ruler.
