JUSTIN II, (A.D.565-578), gold solidus, Constantinople mint, (4.4 grams), obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust of Justin II facing, without beard, holding globe surmounted by Victory and shield, D N I VSTI NVS PP AVC around, rev. +VICTORI A AVCCCS, around, CONOB in exergue, Constantinopolis seated facing head right, holding spear and cross on globe, (S.345, D.O.(4e), BMC 8). Has been mounted, edge knocks and gash across obverse field, double struck, otherwise nearly very fine.
