GROUP OF SIX: Distinguished Service Cross (GVIR); 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Pacific Star; British War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal. W.H.Roberts R.A.N.V.R. First medal engraved W.H.Roberts 1942 R.A.N., other medals impressed. Mounted for wear. Good very fine.

William Henry Roberts entered the Royal Australian Naval Volunteer Reserves 29June 1940 as a sub-Lieutenant. Served continuously on a number of ships including HMAS Perth (27Jul1940-1 Mar1942) till he was demobilized 26Apr1946. He was a P.O.W. (Japanese) 1 Mar1942-18Oct1945. DSC:L.G.19Mar1946 'For gallantry and resolution while serving in HMAS Perth, lost by enemy action in the Far East in 1Mar1942'.
