LORD HOWE, gilt copper medal, by C.H. Kuchler, 48mm, (63.6 grams), 1794, obv. bust of Lord Howe to right, with THALASSIARCHA legend, rev. quarter view of Howe's flag ship 'Queen Charlotte' sinking French ship, dated 1794, (Pollard 8 (i) (p.277-279], Eimer 855, BHM 383, Fearon 245.3, MH 417). Has been mounted on edge, carefully removed, light scratches on the obverse, edge knocks, otherwise extremely fine and very rare.
