REPUBLIC, P. Plautius Hypsaeus, (c.58 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, obv. bust of Leuconoe draped to right, dolphin behind, P. YPSAE S.C. before bust, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to left, within exergue C YPSAE COS/ PRIV, to right CEPIT, (S.299, Cr. 420/2a, Syd. 911). Slightly off centred on the reverse, otherwise with mint bloom, good extremely fine and rare thus.
