MACEDON, Chalkidian League, (c.383/2 B.C.), silver tetrobol, 13mm, (2.39 g), Olynthos, issued 383/2 B.C., obv. laureate head of Apollo to right, rev. XA**LKIDEWN* around, kithara with seven strings, all within very shallow incuse square, (S.1425, Robinson & Clement Group H, 81 [A56/P53], SNG ANS 532 [same dies]). With an attractive head of Apollo of excellent Classical style, extremely fine, scarce.

Ex Brian Bolton Collection and previously from Nomos Auction Sale 8, October 21, 2013 (lot 72), coming from a North European Collection.
