THRACE, (Moesia Superior), Viminacium, Gordian III, (238-244 A.D.), issued Year 2 = 240-241 A.D., AE 30 (Sestertius), (23.75 g), obv. IMP CAES M ANT GO[RDIANVS AVG] around, laureate bust draped and cuirassed to right of Gordian III, rev. P M S CO L VIM around, AN .I.I. in exergue, female figure (Moesia) standing facing head to left extending two hands over a bull and a lion which stand on her right and left sides, (S.3642, Varbanov 108, cf.BMC 7, Pick, AMNG 76); Valerian, (253-260 A.D.), issued year XVI = 255 A.D., AE 27, (8.45 g), obv. IMP VALERIANVS P F AVG, around, laureated bust to right, rev. P M S C OL VIM around, AN XVI in exergue, female figure (Moesia) standing facing head to left extending two hands over a bull and a lion which stand on her right and left sides, (S.4418, cf.Varbanov 237 [variety on obv. legend], Pick.-). First coin off-centred on obverse, second rough surface, both very fine. (2)
