TRIO TO KIA GALLIPOLI: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 140 Cpl R.A.Penrose. 7/Bn. A.I.F. All medals impressed. Extremely fine.

Reginald Arthur Penrose, detective, age 21, born at Calcutta, India, but residing at Carlton, Victoria; Enl.17Aug1914 at Melbourne, Victoria; previous service with School Cadets from age 12; to Cpl 26Sep1914; Emb.19Oct1914; joined MEF 05Apr1915; shown as KIA 25Apr1915 but due to confusion and the number of casualties at the time, the exact date was indeterminate and thus shown in his records as occurring between 25 April - 2 May 1915; no known grave, commemorated on The Lone Pine Memorial at Gallipoli.
