Alfred Irvine Barr, horse attendant, age 24, born at Waterloo, Sydney, NSW; Enl.14Apr1915 at Liverpool, NSW; Emb.25Jun1915; to Gallipoli 16Aug1915; MIA 21-25Aug1915; Court of Inquiry at Tel el Kebir determined KIA - witness report - Barr got through the first part of the time he was at Lone Pine all right. On 22nd Aug they were operating over on the left near the New Zealanders, when Barr was shot. Witness saw him fall. He did not get up again and witness concluded he was dead. Commemorated at Lone Pine Memorial.
