LYDIA, Tralles, (130-129 B.C.), silver cistophoric tetradrachm, (12.26 g), obv. cista mystica containing serpent, all within ivy wreath, rev. bow in case between two coiled serpents, to left **D* over **[T]RAL*, to right a Dionysos standing right on pedestal holding thyrsos, **PTOL* above, (cf.S.4745, cf.SNG von Aulock 3263, cf.BMC 45-48, cf.Museum Notes Minor Hoard 1955 No.37, cf.SNG Cop. 662 var.). Toned, very fine and rare.
