SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (222-235 A.D.), silver denarius, issued 231-235 A.D., Rome mint, (3.18 g), obv. Laureate head to right. of Severus Alexander, IMP SEV ALEXAND AVG around, rev. VIRTVS AVG around, Emperor standing in military dress to left, with right foot on helmet, holding globe and reversed spear, (S.7938, RIC 226, BMC 647, RSC 586). Good extremely fine, lightly toned.
