CONSTANS II, (A.D. 641-668), gold solidus of thick fabric and small module, issued at Carthage mint in A.D. 659-668, (3.35 g), obv. facing busts of rulers Constans II bearded, and Constantine IV beardless, rev. busts of Heraclius and Tiberius, cross on base and two steps, (S.1044, DOC 126). Of unusual light weight (examples are known), weakly struck as usual, very fine and scarce.
