PHOCAS, (602-610), gold solidus, (4.50 g), Constantinople mint, 5th Officina, issued 604-607, obv. crowned facing bust holding cross, around DN FOCAS PERP AVC, rev. Angel facing left holding Staurogram headed cross, and globus cruciger, around VICTORIA AVCU E, (S.618, DOC 10, MIBE 7, SB 618). Rotated double strike causing a full crossover of obverse and reverse dies, extremely fine or better with mint bloom. A dramatic and rare ancient striking error.
