VESPASIAN, (A.D. 69-79), gold aureus, Rome mint, issued A.D. 70, (7.18 g), obv. IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG, laureate head to right, rev. COS III TR POT, rev. Aequitas standing left, holding scales and sceptre, (cf.S 2248, BMC 16, CBN 8, Calico 615, RIC 5). Lightly toned, has been mounted in a bezel, raised rim from mount removal, nearly very fine and scarce.
