QUEEN'S SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL 1899, (type 2 reverse with ghost dates), - three clasps - Relief of Kimberley, Driefontein, Johannesburg. 213 Corl J.Lacey, Qnslnd:M.R. Impressed. Trio of clasps not attached to medal suspender, uncirculated.

John Lacey, Emb.01Nov1899 serving with B Coy 1st Queensland Mounted Infantry Contingent; RTA on 13Dec1900 arriving at Brisbane 16Jan1901; Disch.23Jan1901 on disbandment of unit; during his term of service he was hospitalised, then placed in rest camp for about a fortnight suffering from Debility. He made a complete recovery and returned to duty.
