MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), AE 17, (4.04 gm), Macedonian mint, issued 336-323 B.C., obv. diademed head to right, dotted border, rev. horse prancing to right, above and to right, **ALEXANDROU*, Boeotian shield below, (cf.S.6744, P.351, BMC 351a-b, M.753b). Good very fine/nearly very fine, this use of the Boeotian symbol is unusual and rare.
