QUEEN'S SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL 1899, (type 3 reverse), - four clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1902. 200 Serjt: J.W.T.Paul. Doyle's Scouts. Impressed. Extremely fine.

Ex Regal Coin Co Pty Ltd, December 1984 (item 934). Only 83 medals to unit. Doyle's Scouts (referred to as Doyle's Australian Scouts) formed in South Africa about the end of 1901 from Queenslanders from Australian Commonwealth Regiment, recruits for the Queensland draft contingent members choosing to remain in South Africa when their contingents departed. The CO was Capt R.D.Doyle (NSW).
