CLODIUS ALBINUS, (A.D. 195-197), silver denarius, Rome mint issued A.D. 195, (3.45 grams), obv. bare head of Clodius Albinus to right, around D CLOD SEP[T] ALBIN CAES, rev. around COS II, Aesculapius standing left, feeding snake which coils up around staff at his side, (S.6140, RIC 2, BMC 88, RSC 9). Toned, areas of hoard patination, otherwise good very fine and very scarce.
