BLACKFRIARS BRIDGE, City of London award, 1865, in silver and enamel (60mm) with ribbon and pin suspension bar, obverse, shield of City of London and symbol of the Society of Architects on a red enamel background, reverse engraved, 'Bridge House Estates Committee/on laying the/Foundation Stone/of the New Bridge/at Blackfriars/20 July 1865./T.Parker Esq F.S.A.' In official case of maker, Stillwell & Son, uncirculated.
T.Parker was the architect in charge of redevelopment around the Blackfriars Bridge approaches. With copy of article, 'Blackfriars Bridge Remembered' by Tom May, Australasian Coin & Banknote, July 2008, pp69-70, with medal illustration (this medal).
