L. CASSIUS CAECIANUS, (c.102 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.63 grams), obv. Ceres bust to left, CAEICI[AN] behind, A/. above, rev. two yoked oxen and plough to left, L. CASSI in exergue, X above, (S.199, Cr.321/1, Syd.594, B.Cassia 4). With banker's marks on obverse, otherwise fine and rare.

The type refers to colonisation probably by an ancestor.
