MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.21 grams), Lampsacus mint, issued c.328-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, Demeter facing with two torches to left, **D/O* below throne, to right **ALEXANDROU*. (cf.S.6730, Price 1356, BMC 1356a-c, M.398, SNG Cop.881). Nearly very fine, scarce.
