MACEDON, Philip II, (359-336 B.C.) type issued by Kassander as regent (317-305 B.C.), silver fifth stater, posthumous issue of Amphipolis mint issued 305-297 B.C., (2.40 grams), obv. head of Apollo to right, hair bound with tainia, rev. naked youth on horse prancing to right, shield on side below horse, (S.6689, Le Rider Pl.48,10-12, SNG ANS 822-826). Nearly extremely fine and rare.
