PHOENICIA, Tyre, (c. 2nd century B.C. - 1st century A.D.), silver shekel or tetradrachm, (14.21 grams), Tyre mint, issued 112-111 B.C., obv. laureate head of Melqarth beardless to right, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, carrying a palm, standing on prow of ship, club to left, also to left **SI* ( year 16 = 111-110 B.C.], to right monogram of **HAP*, Phoenician letter between legs, around **TUROU IERA[S] KAI ASULOU*, (S.5918, BMC 82, H.1618 [817]). Good very fine with traces of hoard patina.
