BANK OF AUSTRALASIA, five pounds, Hobart Town, 15th May 1866 (cf.MVR type 2(a)). A uniface printer’s proof, pencil annotation in signatory position "To this 3rd Apr/66", imprint of Perkins, Bacon & Co London Patent Hardened Steel Plate at bottom centre. Slight toning, otherwise extremely fine and rare.
