INDIA, Gupta Kingdom, Prakasaditya, (c.A.D. 480-485), stater, 9.3 grams, obv. king riding horse with sword to right, attacking lion in front leaping at horse, rev. Lakshmi seated facing cross-legged upon lotus (Altekar 'The Gupta Gold Coins in the Bayana Hoard' No.10 (p.312), PL.XXXII,10, Fr.106). Very fine and rare.

This ruler as noted by Altekar most probably belongs to the Gupta dynasty but has not yet identified to other sources.
