PERSIA, Kingdom of Darius III, (370-330 B.C.), daric, 8.33 grams, struck mid fourth century B.C., Lydian mint, obv. bearded archer (the Great King) kneeling to right holding spear and bow, rev. oblong punch with horizontal lines, (c.S.4679, Carradice BAR 343, Group IIIb). Nearly extremely fine and scarce.
