HENRY VIII, (1509-1547), silver penny, Sovereign type, first coinage, mm.lis, issue of Bishop Ruthall, issued 1509-1523, Durham mint, with seated king facing, TD beside shield, (S.2332, N.1777). Dark tone, weak in places, otherwise very fine and scarce.

Ex John Eccles, Wellington coin dealer, purchased in 1983.
