Privately purchased in 1976. The statement of only a purchase date in the footnote on this and other English coin lots generally indicates that Mr.W.H.Lampard acquired the coin from a fellow collector who he sometimes named in his listing or from an uncertain source probably in his travels either in New Zealand or overseas.
