ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.335-330 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (7.54 grams), obv. bearded Corinthian helmeted head of Leukippos to right, rev. ear of corn, to right [ME]T[A], to left club erect over leaf, [AMI] below, (S.415, Johnston [NN&M 164] Class B, 2, cf.SNG Ash.728); another (7.55 grams), obv. Demeter head right, rev. META to right of corn ear, (cf.S.416, Johnston Class A, 8.24 [same dies], illustrated). Both with small dumpy flans, otherwise fine - nearly very fine, scarce. (2)
